Young children have lot of energy and can do more than what you can imagine. When you encourage a child to run for few meters, the child surprises you with running more than you can imagine. With regular motivation and support, children would love to increase distances after few days.
Running 1km at the age of 7 years should not be a matter of concern, but yes as a parent you might have apprehension that how your young kid can run 3km and 5km in upcoming #JunioRun. To address the concerns of parents, team JPS met up with Chief Siddarth and asked him to alleviate the concerns of the parents. As an experienced Ultra runner who recently completed 1480 kms in ‘The Great India Run’ from Delhi to Mumbai shared that there is no need for running 3km or 5km on a stretch, a child can Run, Walk, take a Breather and a Sip of Water and enjoy his Run completely. He further added that since it’s a competitive race, few children are bound to run fast and consistently but for the children who are participating for the first time, it’s more important for them to participate than to win at this stage.
#JunioRun is India’s Biggest Children’s Marathon which has already made the mark in Gurgaon and Jaipur. New Delhi is going for its first #JunioRun on 25th Sept. at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium with more than 100 schools & 5000 + participants.
